Eurovision 2025: Grand Final Prediction

Image
It's the big one! After another shocking set of results in the second semi-final, we now have our final line-up. Before I discuss who I think is in with a chance of winning tonight, let's take a moment to talk about Thursday's qualifiers. Armenia, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg and Malta all successfully made it through to the final, leaving Australia, Czechia, Georgia, Ireland, Montenegro and Serbia behind. That does of course mean that I only managed to predict a slightly woeful 7/10 qualifiers, as a couple of fairly safe qualifiers faltered on the night. I'd like to give particular commiserations to Czechia, who had a strong song that I thought would make it through with relative ease, but it wasn't Adonxs' strongest performance on the night, and clearly it didn't translate well enough for casual viewers. I would have loved Serbia to qualify, but in the end I had sort of resigned myself to the fact that it wasn...

Eurovision 2025: Semi-Final 2 Prediction

Eurovision 2025 continues tonight with the second semi-final so it's time for me to make some more predictions. Before I do, however, I'd like to take a moment to digest everything that went down on Tuesday. Fifteen countries were whittled down to ten, with Albania, Estonia, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Sweden and Ukraine making it through to the final. This did, however, mean that we lost Azerbaijan, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus and Slovenia. I'd like to congratulate Iceland and Portugal especially on defying the odds and making it through. Both Væb and Napa delivered excellent performances on the night and in my opinion do deserve their spots. I'm not sure if "Róa" will get off the ground in the final, but am definitely excited to see how "Deslocado" gets on now that the juries are coming into play. A shout-out must also go to San Marino, who broke the DJ curse to make only their fourth final to date. It could have gone...

Eurovision 2025: Semi-Final 1 Prediction

Somehow, Eurovision week is here already! The season has absolutely flown by, and I can't quite believe that in just a few days time it will all be over. Before that, however, there is a lot still to unfold; beginning with the first semi-final. Fifteen countries will compete for ten places in Saturday's final, and the show will also feature exhibition performances from automatic qualifiers Italy, Spain and Switzerland. Within my song reviews that have been posted over the last few weeks, I tried to avoid making predictions as much as possible, due to a lack of information and wanting to focus on the packages themselves. However, now we have an idea of what the performances are going to look like on the night, I think it's about time that I finally share my personal prediction for the week's results. I'm finding both semi-finals quite difficult to predict this year as I think there's more songs than usual that could go either way depending on how they are recei...
